Glogger.com

In today's lecture we are learning how to glog. Glogging is different to blogging. Although I'm still trying to keep up with all this but hopefully it'll catch on! Glogging (I think) is an online poster, which you can animate and add pictures, music and videos too, so in the end you have an animated poster. Glogs, like blogs and other online web tools, have been criticised for not being safe enough for school children to use. I am now going to make a glog, along with Hannah, and will post about how we get on after!

More reflection.....

Trying to start these essays is abit of a nightmare!! I'm making a slooooow start!

It has made me realise though how important reading is. (especially on reading week)!

Because reading, not just websites but books as well, helps you to expand your knowledge and your essay! My eyes are getting tired now, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end! And hopefully I'll impress myself and get something good back from it! That would be nice :)

Back to my essays!

I have a netball course today. I'm attempting to build up all my skills in preperation for later on in my course, even though I'm only in year one, but I like to feel prepared! :)

The evolution of my blog continued...

Hi again.
I am now going to talk abit more about my blog today and what I would like from it.

 Here is the up dated version of my blog...

 I have made the following changes... A reflection bubble!
 These changes were made because... We are learning how to reflect better on our work and life in general
 I now feel that my blog reflects...my feelings and opinions
 This blog is a reflective combination of my research and experiences in...ICT and my life
 Hopefully it gives the reader...a good insight in to me!
 It gives me... a place to share my thoughts and to learn new things
 What I would like to see is... my blog getting better as I learn more
 Where I would like to take this blog... carry on reflecting each week
 The type of people I would like to interest is...My class friends who are also learning the things that I am
 What I hope to get out of the blog in the long term... a better understanding of my work and blogs of course!

My week Oct14th-21st

Hey everyone:) I have been asked to reflect on my last week.

I've had quite a busy week this week! I was babysitting saturday and took my little cousins to see the new Disney Pixar film 'Up'. It was such a nice film and even made cry once or twice. Go and see it!

On monday it was my dad's birthday, so I made Sweet n Sour chicken with some cheesecake for dessert!

Yesterday, was the the worst day everrrrrrrrrr!!! I left an hour early for uni so I had time to park my car. I drove around and around and couldn't find a space! By this time I had driven up and down the hill twice, then the torrential rain started so I couldn't see a thing. In the end I parked at the top of the hill and walked down to uni.
In the two minutes it took for me to get from my car to the uni door, I was absolutely soaked! I ended up in the changing rooms drying my leggings and my boots with the hairdryer, and my leather jacket has taken 24 hours to dry off! Then when I got home I had to go to work. Gutted.

But anyway, rant over..
I have been asked in ICT to reflect on my blog, as well as my last week so here it is...
 Here is my blog I began in...my ICT class
 I chose the template because...I like bright colours and I like things to stand out
 I set out the blog in this way because... It looks more appealing and may make people want to read it.
 Originally the blog set out to... Help me learn how to use a blog website
 What I liked about it at the time was...It was a different way of learning.
 Although I now feel that... It can also be fun whilst helping you to learn.
 The changes I would like to make will... I don't want to make changes yet but carry on with what I am doing as I am still getting use to this whole blogging thing...

In my next blog I will talk about how I can reflect and change my blog

What I have learned about Blogs in ICT

Today I have learnt that blogs are interesting and useful to share thoughts with people about different subjects.

I have also learnt that they can be very confusing at times because no two blogs ever look the same really apart from the comment buttons and obvious things like that.

In ICT I was asked to research cars! The boys got to research the fun stuff like make up, and the girls are lucky enough to be able to look at cars and football.......

Anyway, I found a website called http://www.thecarblog.com/ so I had a look at that and found a man in a dilemna about whether to lease his mazda or not and some comments that people had left to try and help him and pass on some advice. The next topic I was asked to research was education. Probably because the course I am doing in university is educational studies. I typed 'educational blog' in to google and I found some blogs on the Guardian website, although they weren't very educational to begin with and included articles such as 'What not to wear at college', and some more controversial blogs such as 'Are female students a 'perk of the job'?", which says "A vice-chancellor is encouraging lecturers to enjoy gazing at, even fantasising about, attractive female students". This sentence repulses me so instead of reading on I look for other blogs and find some where you can discuss your GCSE and A level results which I think are quite good.

Thats all for today. I'm now going to try and find steph and sav on this website somewhere!

All for now
